Week #37 Gomez Palacio

This week I don’t have too much time to write an email so I’m just gonna talk about my investigators real fast.
An investigator whose name is Veronica confided in us that her baby grandson had died recently and she felt like God was punishing her for not being a good person.  We had a really powerful lesson in which we explained the Plan of Salvation to her and we also read Moroni Chapter 8 which explains that children are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ and his atonement.  The hermana was crying and told us that she wanted to continue having lessons, AND accepted a baptism date for the 5th of August.  She came to church this Sunday even though she was working Saturday night until 4 o’clock in the morning and we can tell that she has a lot of faith and desire to change.
Another investigator, Keta, has had the desire to come to church with us but her husband has been making her go to the catholic church with him. She has been praying that her husband´s heart could be softened so that she could continue to progress in the gospel.  This saturday was her birthday and her husband surprised her that as a birthday present, he was fine if she came to church with us this week.  She came, felt the spirit, and told us she wanted to come again.  We are excited to continue teaching her and her husband even told us he would listen the next time we came!
We also had an investigator named Elias in church this Sunday which was truly a miracle because he told us he probably wouldnt ever come.  When we were teaching about the word of wisdom this week, he said he felt like it was true and that he wanted to be healthier.  He´s only 16 and he has been drinking and smoking since he was 14.  He commited to keep the word of wisdom and he decided that he wanted some change in his life.  Its awesome that he´s progressing and he is gaining a testimony of the commandments.
Two other investigators, Marlen and Arlet, are getting baptized this upcoming saturday.  We just went over the baptismal interview questions with them and they have a powerful testimony of the church.  They are certain in their decision to be baptized and they have only been strengthed by their many trials.
Everything is going pretty good here!  Pretty sure I got food poisoning and Ive been pretty under the weather for the last couple of days, but I have seen tons of miracles, so it´s all good!  Love you guys a ton. Thanks for all the support!
Until next week!
